When encountering something new, such as a new web framework, we’d like to quickly put it into context in order to know what it is and what problem it’s trying to solve. This is how the human mind works – we compare new things to previous experiences to be able to quickly decide if it’s a thing for us or not. This decision making skill is what has kept us alive for so long and helped us take over the world.

We wanted to make the comparing of Vaadin as easy and objective as possible (as objective as we could at least). And to make this promise true, we opened up the source for all of you to comment on in Google Sheets. This way you can affect the comparison – if you find something wrong or missing, just add a comment.

There is no silver bullet – different tools are made for different use-cases so make a judged decision based on data. We hope this comparison matrix will serve as a good basis for your decision. And if something is missing, add it to the spreadsheet or the comments below.
